VALENTINE MUSEUM OF ART: XAYMACA

Xaymaca is the original Taíno name for the island of Jamaica, commonly interpreted as meaning the “Land of Wood and Water” or “Land of Springs”. Homage to the island’s lush, mountainous terrain and abundant water resources.

Valentine Museum of Art Xaymaca will join other Jamaican based institutions like The National Gallery of Jamaica bringing comprehensive exhibitions of artist practicing their craft internationally. Visitors will experience exhibits from our permanent collections and rotating exhibits in collaboration with other institutions.

VALENTINE MUSEUM OF ART: BROOKLYN

Valentine museum of Art is a private institution which celebrates the history of living working visual artists. Overlooked artists, marginalized histories, and practices that never found footing and recognition in their time through collection specific series and bodies of works within an artist’s practice.

The Brooklyn location is located at the Philip Howard Apartments: 1655 Flatbush Avenue, Flatbush, Brooklyn.
